Why Alternative Energy?
While water is a necessity of life, electricity is not. But when your water system is dependant upon electricity to function properly, having power or not could be the difference between getting water out of your well or not (which then makes it a necessity). And as end time events accelerate to their climactic close, it seems quite clear that the power grid (giant utility power producing networks) will become increasingly unstable, which is a very bad thing when your water system depends upon it.
Another issue to consider is that of privacy. Any time power lines are run to a house, an easement must be given to the power company. This easement gives them the RIGHT to follow their lines onto your property and right up to your house, any time they would like to. There is obviously plenty of room for abuse of this easement by whomever would like to.
Still another consideration is the cost of running electricity to remote property. Often, in very remote areas, the nearest power lines could be miles away and running them to your land could cost you thousands of dollars.
In light of all these factors as well as the surging price of energy, it would be very wise to consider owning your own little "power company."
